Terms of service

What DayCount EU is

DayCount EU is a planning aid for keeping track of days spent in the Schengen area and in countries with day-count tax thresholds. It is not legal, immigration or tax advice. Border authorities' records are authoritative. Tax results are indicators, not determinations, and other tests can make you resident regardless of days.

No guarantee of accuracy

We work hard to follow the published rules and test our calculations, but rules change and your results depend on the dates you enter. You are responsible for checking your own position against official sources and for your travel decisions. To the extent the law allows, the app and website are provided "as is" and we are not liable for losses from relying on them.

Your data and backups

Your data is stored only on your device. We cannot recover it. Export a CSV regularly to keep a backup.

Free use, ads and premium

The app is free with ads. Premium removes ads and unlocks extra features. Features and limits may change over time.

Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase

  • The yearly plan is an auto-renewing subscription, charged through your Apple ID or Google Play account. It renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. A free trial, where offered, converts to a paid subscription at its end unless you cancel before.
  • You can manage or cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
  • The lifetime purchase is a one-time payment that unlocks premium for as long as the app is offered, subject to the store's rules.
  • Prices are shown in the app before you buy. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
  • Signing in is required to buy or restore so your purchase can follow you to a new phone.

Acceptable use

Use the app lawfully and for your own travel planning. Do not use it to mislead authorities, and do not attempt to interfere with the service. The documents it can generate are made from your own log and are not official records.

Third-party services

The app uses third-party services for sign-in, purchases and ads. Their own terms apply to them.

Changes and law

We may update these terms and will change the date above. Continued use means you accept the updated terms. These terms are governed by the laws that apply to the operator's place of business, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights where you live.

These terms are a plain-language description of the service. They are not legal advice.
