Privacy policy

Last updated 28 October 2026. Operator: DayCount EU. Contact: support@daycounteu.com.

Short version: your trips, documents and notes stay on your phone. We run no server that stores them.

What stays on your device

Travellers, passports (country and label only), trips, countries, dates, crossing points, notes, status periods, tax settings, reminders and evidence files such as boarding passes. The database is encrypted with a key held in your phone's secure storage (Keychain or Keystore). Evidence files are encrypted separately and are excluded from cloud backup. This data is not sent to us or to any third party.

What third parties receive

RevenueCatPurchases and premium statusA user ID (your sign-in ID once you sign in, otherwise an anonymous ID), and purchase and subscription status from the App Store or Google Play. Not your trips.
Apple and GooglePayments, app storesHandled under their own terms and policies.
Google AdMob (free version only)Showing adsDevice identifiers such as the advertising ID, IP address and device information, if you consent. In the EEA and UK you are asked for consent; on iOS you are asked for tracking permission. Premium has no ads. Not your trips.
This website's hostServing pages and the rules fileStandard server logs such as your IP address, for security and operation. We use no analytics and no cookies.

The app fetches a public rules file from this website to keep tax and EES/ETIAS information current. That request sends no identifiers, only the ordinary information any web request carries, such as your IP address.

This website

The calculators run in your browser. Your dates are kept in your browser's local storage so they are there next time, and can be erased with "Clear everything". A share link stores your dates in the part of the address after the # sign, which browsers never send to servers. We do not use analytics, tracking pixels or advertising on this website.

Location

DayCount EU does not use your location. You enter your dates yourself.

How long data is kept

Data on your phone stays until you delete it (in the app, or by uninstalling). If you delete your account, your sign-in record is removed (see account deletion). Purchase records are kept by Apple, Google and RevenueCat as required by their own policies.

Your rights

Because we do not hold your travel data, most requests (access, correction, deletion) can be done directly in the app. For the small amount of account data processed when you sign in, you can ask us to access or delete it by emailing us. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object or complain to your data-protection authority.

International transfers

Google and RevenueCat may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under the safeguards described in their own policies.

Children

DayCount EU is not intended for children under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app.

This policy describes how the app is designed to work. It is not legal advice.
